Dímelo Cantando emulates the healing powers of incorporating nature patterns into our surrounding environment. This illustrated outdoor wallpaper features flowers designed with the colors and marks created by the children of The Pomonok Houses during Kiki’s workshops. With branches formed from their beading choices during jewelry-making and shapes derived from their chalk art, these flowers celebrate the youth’s voices as the seeds of the neighborhood. The title translates to “tell it to me singing”, an affectionate Dominican greeting that one would use with a neighbor. Mirroring the interconnectivity found in nature, this mural emphasizes the fact that, within a community, we are all one.
